PROFILE - Dr. Lauretta Will

PROFILE

 Dr. Lauretta Will, an American-educated Sierra Leonean native, is a United States citizen who has lived in Atlanta, Georgia, with her family, for over twenty years.  Over the past couple of years, she has visited post-war Sierra Leone to serve in the educational arena, business technology training as well as being involved in philanthropic activities and projects worth over $100,000 worth of educational resources.

 Educational Background                                                    

Having majored in Information Technology with both her Bachelor of Science and Masters from DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry respectively, she also majored in a Doctorate of Business Administration in Management with a minor in International Business from Argosy University, Sarasota, Florida.

 Professional Experiences                                                      

Dr. Will currently serves as a professor, teaching Business Management, Computer Applications,  Information Technology  and International Business courses at several universities in the United States, including: American InterContinental University in Atlanta, Burlington County College in New Jersey, Troy University and Strayer University also in Atlanta.  She has also served as a Visiting Professor at Manchester University in the United Kingdom and Njala University in Sierra Leone.

Executive DirectorAugust 2002 – 2004                            Dr. Will, as Executive Director, developed and designed a city-wide technology training center and family resources for Fresh Anointing International Ministry (800-member church based in Montgomery, Alabama. The Center was established to support faith-based organizations, government programs and other non-profit community-based organizations. Planned and supervised all program implementations, conducted and coordinated research and grant writing for 3 RFPs including CTF (Children’s Trust Fund) proposals for “Fatherhood Initiative” programs, “Pregnancy Prevention”, “After-School, Non-School-Based programs and a Faith-based technology training and Life Skills programs. Supervised Program Manager, technical instructors, administrative staff and a host of volunteers.

Other professional experiences of Dr. Will include; serving as Internet Business Application Manager and Customer Project Manager at AT&T Business Assist Program and AT&T Network Services respectively, where she provided Ecommerce consultative services to middle market companies.  At AT&T, she served as Back-up Instructor for Shared Hosting and Online seminars. Prior to her relocation to the United States from Liberia, Dr. Will served as Personnel Assistant at WARDA (West Africa Rice Development Association) in Liberia, for four years.

Small Business Owner                                                             Dr. Will later developed her own business and is Chief Executive Officer and owner of a small business – “NAAVO Business & Technology Solutions” and serves as an international business consultant for West Africa and China. 

 Awards and Accomplishments                                                Dr. Will is a Member of Board of Directors of several organizations including: Sierra Grassroots Agency in Sierra Leone, Living Word Outreach Ministry in Sumter, South Carolina and Day of Change International Outreach in Atlanta, Georgia.  She has also earned numerous Awards of Excellence from American InterContinental University, DeVry University and Centennial Secondary School.

 International Business Consultant                                     Dr. Will has also been involved in international workshops and seminars including conferences and lectures in The Peoples Republic of China from June to July 2002, at the following institutions and organizations:

         China University of Business and Technology, Xuzhou – “Cultural Diversity”

         Xuzhou Economic and Development Zone, Xuzhou – “China Open Market” 

         Caterpillar Manufacturing Plant I, Xuzhou – “Caterpillar Plant Worldwide”

Dr. Will, professor, philanthropist and community organizer, is also a mother of four college-aged sons, Big Al, Marcus, Lil Al and Antoine Sillah.  Her hobbies include traveling, community programs and reading
